Forget your Gmail password? Use Gmail password recovery.

Like most services, Gmail includes the ability to recover your password should you forget it.
It starts with the "Can't access your account" link underneath the sign-in box.
When you click on the "Can't access your account" link underneath the sign-in box, you'll be taken to a page asking "What's preventing you from accessing Gmail?". Click on "I forgot my password". That will expose the following text:

Click on "password recovery page" to get here:

Enter your Gmail account user name and press Submit.

Enter the text displayed. This is to prove that you're a real person and not another computer attempting to hack into people's accounts.

Gmail will present you with one of the "secret questions" that you were asked to answer when you created your account. Fill in the correct answer to prove that you are who you say you are, and press Submit.

Now that you've proven you are who you say you are, you're allowed to simply specify a new password for the account.

That's all there is to it. Knowing only the answer to your secret question you're able to recover your Gmail password and access to your account by changing it to something new.
