Forgot Your Google Password? Use your alternate email address to recover it!

Like most services, Google includes the ability to recover your password should you forget it.
It starts with the "Can't access your account" link underneath the sign-in box.
When you click on the "Can't access your account" link underneath the sign-in box, you'll be taken to a page asking "What's preventing you from accessing Gmail?". Click on "I forgot my password". That will expose the following text:

Click on "password recovery page" to get here:

Enter your Google account user name and press Submit.

Enter the text displayed. This is to prove that you're a real person and not another computer attempting to hack into people's accounts.

Google sends email similar to the following to the email address specified as your recovery address:

Click on the link therein and you'll be taken to:

And you're done!

That's all there is to it.
If you don't have a recovery email address specified, you may want to consider setting one up. In fact, Google may well remind you if this is the case:

Click on that "Add Info Now" link in your Gmail session, and specify an alternate email address so that when you forget your password recovery can be this simple.
